Andrew was commissioned into the Royal Navy after leaving school and served in the Submarine Service as a Nuclear Marine Engineering Officer.   Part of this included reading for an engineering degree at Newcastle University and then a Master’s level Postgraduate Diploma in Nuclear Reactor Technology. After leaving the Navy he worked in the defence nuclear industry providing reactor operating and technical advice within the defence nuclear engineering industry.  Andrew now works for himself as an Executive Coach and Mentor as well as providing training and advice to businesses in Leadership and Management.  He has a special interest in training and educating businesses on effective communication and management of autistic employees and is qualified Adult Mental Health First Aider (England).

Andrew is a Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, has two engineering charterships and is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Outside of work, Andrew has written articles on autism in the workplace that have been published in local newspapers and has been interviewed twice on BBC Radio Derby providing an insight and guidance to people who work with autistic individuals.  He is an Advanced Driver and an Advanced Driving Observer (similar role to an instructor) as well as a governor at a primary school in Burton upon Trent.
