Head Teacher at Ashby Hastings
Rachel Mckeown
Having been in education since 2007, Rachel has developed as a forward thinking, passionate leader who is committed to ensuring all children are provided with inspiring new experiences which allow them to develop, progress and achieve. She began her career as a class teacher at Ashby Willesley Primary School where she played an active part in the school’s Senior Leadership Team. Rachel has a passion for EYFS, where it is her aim to ensure that all children experience a happy and successful start to their education.
Rachel is a highly motivated, ambitious and passionate leader who values the importance of high standards. She is dedicated to ensure that every child has the opportunity to maximise their potential to become confident, resilient learners, leaving Primary School with an education that will prepare them for life.
In August 2021, as Head of School, Rachel played a pivotal part in the opening of Ashby Hastings Primary School. Rachel was appointed as Headteacher effective from August 2023.
