Head Teacher at Old Mill Primary
Alison Smith-Stewart
Alison has been head teacher at Old Mill for the last 12 years, having previously been a non-teaching Deputy in a larger than average Primary school. Old Mill moved from 'Satisfactory' to 'Good' very quickly under Alison's lead and the school has retained that grading through further Ofsted’s, by unrelentingly focusing on excellent outcomes for pupils through a constantly evolving and forward thinking curriculum. Alison has ensured that the school has strong teachers, skilled support staff, carefully chosen pastoral staff and happy children and is proud of its provision, particularly relating to sport, maths, reading and all pastoral matters. Alison has developed a strong team of senior and middle leaders, including SLE's who provide training and CPD within Old Mill, Symphony Learning Trust and the wider world of education.
In November 2021, Old Mill was graded again as a 'Good' school by Ofsted.
