Lauren is passionate about the provision of quality education for all, with a particular interest in reaching disadvantaged children and maximising their opportunities. This interest began whilst working in an FE college where she became involved in mentoring young people with learning difficulties and providing them with work experience. This led to Lauren completing various courses in Equality and Diversity and seeking out opportunities to further support children. In 2015, she became a parent governor for Fairfield Primary School and in 2019, she became the chair of governorsof another local primary school’s advisory board.
In the last two years, Lauren has been studying towards a degree in Education Studies with the hope of further developing her knowledge and in her spare time, she tutors children who are missing education due to exclusions or additional educational needs, working collaboratively with the child to reach curriculum and social & emotional targets with the hope of them later re-joining mainstream education.
Lauren is a firm believer in Primary Education being paramount to providing children with the foundation and skills for later life and am committed to supporting the Trust’s vision in raising standards and increasing outcomes for all.
